To Successfully Lead People, First Understand Them

LENS Learning Lab: Adjust and Widen Your Perspective 

Our LENS Learning Lab provides people leaders (mid-level Managers, Directors, and Executives) with knowledge and strategies to understand the lived experience of their teams in the workplace. When leaders truly understand how inequities show up at work, they can make meaningful progress toward a more inclusive workplace. 

Our proximity scenarios affords leaders a brave space to listen and learn. They will gain a glimpse into the different lived experiences of the people on their teams. Our sessions aim to engage in open, authentic conversations while developing techniques and language to address issues and isolation. Participants will walk away with confidence and knowledge of how to guide and lead change. People leaders will walk away with: 

  1. A greater understanding of challenges faced by employees in the workplace and beyond. 
  2. An enhanced awareness of the harmful behaviors that professionally and psychologically impact the workplace.
  3. Confidence and knowledge of how to address inequities in the workplace. 
  4. Tools and techniques to guide productive dialogue and lead diverse teams. 

What Makes LENS Different?

LENS is delivered by first understanding the unique struggles and opportunities within your organization. MLT reviews, and analyzes quantitative and qualitative data to develop insights on the unique employee experience to customize workshops. 

In our learning sessions, we immerse leaders in a unique experience. They will gain perspective on what it feels like to navigate the world when you are not fully included. The session will highlight “moments” that shape professionals' unique lived experiences inside and outside the workplace. 

After the workshop, MLT provides follow-up coaching for leaders. We work with leaders and influencers over 3 additional coaching sessions, providing the tools and real-world practice to engage with their teams.

The Value of LENS to Your Organization 

LENS is geared toward organizations that are looking for actions and strategies to create an inclusive culture and supportive workplace where all employees can thrive and advance.  The workshop aligns with your organization's strategic objectives to address the specific behaviors and skills for managers to better engage their teams.  The content is actionable and tactical, providing participants with techniques and tools that they can immediately apply in their work to improve performance. Finally, the ability to tailor the workshop to address your organization’s challenges and needs of the organization is highly valuable beyond the training.

Timing and Delivery

Workshop sessions can be conducted face-to-face or virtually. Participants may enter the session as an individual manager or intact team. Overall a standard engagement lasts approximately two months from the prep and delivery. Partners needing additional support can select additional cohorts, workshops by level, and follow-on coaching. Organizations can also exercise our “train the trainer” option, where we work to prepare your organization to lead these sessions in-house.
